Miley Cyrus helps fight against development in Attwood … sort of

Politicians and a Hollywood star have teamed up to fight development in Attwood.
Shadow Planning Minister Brian Tee and Yuroke state Labor MP Liz Beattie took a life size cut out of popstar Miley Cyrus to Attwood this morning in protest the State Government’s green wedge plans.
But it could have been in vain with the State Government unlikely to move the parcel of land within the Urban Growth Boundary.
The Leader reported in September that the government was likely to abide by a recommendation by the Growth Areas Authority to keep the land outside the UGB.
That was despite a Hume Council submission in 2009 requesting that it be included in the UGB so it could be developed into a business park.
Mr Tee said if the Attwood land was included it would completely change the neighbourhood.
